Stop Kony 2012

Watch this video. Share this video with everyone that you know. Don't know who Joseph Kony is? In a nutshell: Leader of the rebel guerillas, "LRA", in Uganda; has abducted an estimated 30,000+ children for use as child-soldiers (who kill their parents so that they have no home to return to) and sex slaves; and is wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes. YOU can help, just by watching & sharing this video. Make Joseph Kony visible...for the sake of these children and their families.

Ask and you shall receive.

So I feel like a lot of times pastors/people/chickens, when talking about prayer will spout off some statement along the lines of, "Maybe your life would be better if you would stop asking God for so much and just be thankful for what God has already given you." So truth be told, that statement has always given me this weird vibe. Now don't  misread my heart, thanking God is definetly something you  should do. It's wonderful to be in a mindset of thankfulness. Riight? Amen.

But I do believe, it's very Biblical to always ask God for what you need/claim what He, in His word, says he gave to you. Solomen asked for wisdom [ 1 Kings 3:9],
Elisha asked for a double portion. [2 Kings 2:9],  in Hebrews 4:6 it says,
"Do not  be  anxious about anything, but in everything, be prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.",and Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.", also "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22, "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." John 16:23 Annnnd of course, " Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." which is found in [Hebrews 4:16]

Get what I'm saying? I'm pretty sure God is totally cool with you asking Him for what you need, so don't be afraid to ask for it. And don't feel condemed for asking (God doesn't condeme, He's loves you.) for something because some people say "Gods too busy helping everyone else" <-- that is such a bullpoop statement. It's GOD. Don't put him into a little box to where you can, "understand Him". I'm pretty sure he can handle it. No worries.

Ask and you shall receive. :)

Perfect love. Perfect man.

Ello lovelys, hope your day is going just dandy. Here's what's been running through my head today.

Say you had a man that was madly in Love with you, and litterally saved your life but in the process of saving you, he died. and you find out he had all these love letters that he had written to you! (like in the Notebook, except Ryan Gossling didn't die in that. ha)  wouldn't you want to read them?!?
Well beloved, you do. His name is Jesus Christ and he has written a boat load of love letters to you. It's called the Bible. Now the beauty of Christ is yes, he died for you so that you could live life and live it to the fullest. Buuuut. He also rose from the grave, lives inside you, and all he wants to do is spend time with you!
The creater of the world wants to spend time with me?  How amazing is that?!

God's sitting there waiting for you to spend time with Him...What are you waiting for?
Like, really, what do you really have to do that's more important or could add more eternal value to your life. If you would just sit down and read/listen you'd be amazed at what God will show you at the perfect time, when you or someone else really needs to hear something, God will use you to show His Truth.

7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
13 And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. 14 Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 All who confess that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. 16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.
18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 19 We love each other[b] because he loved us first.
20 If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a Christian brother or sister,[c] that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? 21 And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their Christian brothers and sisters

Oh lover of my soul

Well, I'm just gonna dive in.....
What's been on my heart lately as I try to press into what God has in store for me and just get to know Him on a  deeper level is His love for me, how good He is to me and He only wants the best for me!
Like it says here,  "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations."Jerimiah 1:5 And in 1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."

We are a Chosen by GOD, and FOR GOD. And the point I'm trying to get out here is that I see so many people looking for love in all the wrong places, through boyfriends/girlfriends who are completely wrong for them but they just want to feel loved! (Or drugs...Don't even get me started on drugs I'm about ready to knock a sucka out over that crap...But that's for another time.) Or they see that "everyone" else has someone so...why shouldn't they?

Well, let me tell you my conviction on this:

You are worth so much to God! You don't need to worry about dating so that you can "know what you like in a guy/girl  He knows what you need in a husband/wife even if you don't, and before you even need to start thinking about dating, you need to get right with God so that when He does bring that perfect person into your life you'll be ready! So that you both can walk side by side pursueing God!
.

Theres no need to waste your "teenage years" with a broken heart because you went after what you knew wasn't right for you! And God can heal you of the pain of past ralationships; He wants to make you WHOLE. He wants to heal you of whatever pain, regret, or guilt you may have gotten from dating.

"Behold I am making all things new!"

Walk in the confidence that God knows what he's doing, He is God after all. He'll bring the perfect person into your life at the perfect time and it will be beautiful.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jerimiah 29:11 <3

Life, It has some lamesauce problems.

Sometimes having problems in your life is like kayaking.

Kayaking is stinkin' hard, there, I said it! It takes so much upper body strength, it's almost not funny.

Sometimes in life we're struggling, asking God to help saying, "Why God? Can you please help me!" And he says, in a still small voice, "My dear, I've given you what you need to overcome this, I've given you my Word, my Presence and my Holy Spirit. I will guide you home"

Kayaking is so much like this it's not funny! I was struggling to get back to where I needed to be.

But I looked down and realized, "Duh Bekah! You have the stinkin' paddle! You have what you need to get home! Just use what you were given!

Ahh, I love that God gives us reminders like this, it's pretty cool how he works.

And we know that God causes everything to work together[a] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” Revelation 21:5

Will I really follow you?

"I will follow you" Such an easily said statement, but so tricky. How many people really follow through with it? In reality, following gets harder as your mind becomes more cluttered. With more and more things taking your time and stressing you out, all the worries of this life, and the "perfectly" scheduled days, do you ever really take the time to sit down, listen, and ask God, "Where are you taking me? Where do you want me to go, I will follow you"?  It's something that's been on my heart lately. Am I letting this world and all it's distractions take away from the relationship I know God wants me to have with him? Am I saying, "Sorry God , I love you, I really do, but I'm a bit busy right now, I'll get to you later." It might hurt a little to think about, but let me encourage you to get off your bum and really, and I mean REALLY..."Follow after God" Well this sums up my heart, in the last few weks, I hope that this may have opened your eyes, or kicked you just hard enough in the bum, to get up, and "Follow" (:
